There are many popular shows and movies where one person is a genius, while the other has to try hard just to keep up. Is this an accurate depiction of human life? Will we always be divided in terms of intelligence in society? Can we find common ground through empathy rather than competition and rivalry?
The “who will win game” is a question that many people have been asking themselves. The answer to this question would depend on the differences between the two games.
We finally received confirmation that Boba Fett, the fan-favorite Star Wars character, survived plunging into the Sarlacc Pit after Season 2 of the great Disney+ drama The Mandalorian. Some admirers mistakenly assumed he and Mando (aka Din Djarin) were the same person because of how similar they appear in their armor. So, who would win in a fight between Boba Fett and The Mandalorian, and why?
Mandalorian would finally defeat Boba Fett, albeit it would be a tight fight. He is younger, has greater armament, equipment, and armor upkeep, and has beaten more deadly opponents on his own.
But don’t get me wrong: Boba Fett was the finest bounty hunter in the galaxy for a reason, as Darth Vader himself sought him out. He’d cause a lot of difficulty for Mando, but it’d all come down to equipment rather than talent in the end. Let’s look at the contrasts between Boba Fett and Din Djarin, and why one would win a battle over the other.
Differences between Boba Fett and Mandalorian
Boba Fett and The Mandalorian are not the same character, despite their identical armor. “After the adventures of Jango and Boba Fett, another fighter rises in the Star Wars world,” the creators declared in the inaugural announcement before Season 1 of The Mandalorian TV program.
So, they’re practically identical in appearance; they’re both very talented bounty hunters who grew up in Mandalorian society – how do they differ? Let’s begin with their backstories.
Boba Fett is a clone of Jango Fett, who was formerly the galaxy’s greatest mercenary. The Empire decided to construct a whole army of Jango’s 100 percent identical clones since he was so great (barring some genetic modifications making them obedient to their authority and aging much faster).
Boba Fett vs. Jango Fett: What’s the Difference and Who Would Win?
Jango agreed to be utilized as a clone template if they provided him with an unmodified, 100 percent DNA match clone. They had fulfilled his desire, and he had named his kid Boba after the clone.
Jango and Boba lived among the Kaminoans, but Jango tried his utmost to instill Mandalorian values and culture on Boba, including the Mandalorian code of conduct and even Mandalorian warrior gear. Following Jango’s death, Boba chose to honor his father by carrying on his heritage as one of the galaxy’s top bounty hunters.
As a result, although Boba isn’t a true Mandalorian, he respects their rules and traditions. Din Djarin is comparable to Boba Fett, except he has stronger Mandalorian ties.
Din Djarin’s adventure started when he was a youngster. His parents were slaughtered, so he was rescued and raised by a Mandalorian warrior. Mando has spent his whole life immersed in Mandalorian tradition and culture.
Even though he isn’t a real Mandalorian by birth (unlike Boba), his upbringing has made him one. Foundlings are Mandalorians who have been discovered, transported to Mandalore, and taught by the organization. Boba was never a Foundling since he was a clone, not a foundling.
Another significant distinction between Boba and Din is the period during which they functioned. Despite the fact that their lives overlap, Boba was much more active before Djarin was born, much less before he became a Mandalorian warrior. It’s not so much when they functioned as it is the environment under which they operated.
Mando, you see, operates in a world where all social organizations and governments have vanished. There is no order, no rule – just chaos. As a result, one might argue that Mando is having it far harder than Boba. Surviving is difficult enough, let alone working as a mercenary or bounty hunter.
Now that we know where they came from, when they existed, and how they worked, let’s see who would win if they ever battled. Keep in mind that I’m using both characters at their prime, not their present age.
Who Would Win in a Fight Between Boba Fett and a Mandalorian?
In many ways, Boba Fett and Din Djarin are quite similar, yet in the end, if they ever battled, there would be a clear victor. Mando would finally vanquish Boba, albeit it would not be easy.
First and foremost, when comparing their armaments, Mando possesses much superior weaponry and warfare techniques. Mando utilizes a pulse weapon with significantly greater strength than Boba, who normally uses a blaster rifle.
We’ve also seen Mando use the Whistling Birds, which are tiny, homing missiles that whistle through the air before exploding on impact. It’s a powerful weapon that may be utilized not only for striking, but also for tactics and escape dangerous circumstances. We’ve never seen Boba Fett use them, so we don’t know whether he even possesses them.
That leads us to their armour, as it were. Din’s armor is clearly better based on looks alone. Despite having seen several fights, it is still in excellent shape, fashioned of Beskar metal and outfitted with a variety of devices and weaponry.
Boba’s armor, although identical in appearance, is scuffed and dented. Furthermore, Boba Fett’s armor was initially built of Durasteel (only later did he obtain one made of Beskar), which is a powerful material but nowhere near as strong as Beskar. Even their jetpacks aren’t a match, since Fett’s is an old-school, battered model, whilst Mando’s is almost new.
After that, we must deal with all of the adversaries they’ve vanquished. During his peak, Boba Fett was a successful bounty hunter, regarded as one of the finest (if not the best) in the galaxy. Boba Fett was chosen by Darth Vader to pursue Han Solo, and he was successful.
Boba was only twelve years old when he fought his father’s murderer, Mace Windu, to the point where they were each just one move from from murdering each other when the battle was interrupted. Also, in the story, Boba saved Mando from impending death, so he gets a point there.
He did, however, die after being shoved into a Sarlacc Pit by a blinded Han Solo. He was thought to be dead for a long time until reappearing in The Mandalorian Season 2, where we find that he was able to escape the pit, owing to the Sarlacc’s inability to digest his armor and the Krayt Dragon’s consumption of it.
Mando, on the other hand, has more stunning characteristics and has the upper hand. Boba Fett was almost murdered by the Krayt Dragon beast that devoured the Sarlacc. Din Djarin single-handedly killed one of them, which is not only astonishing but almost impossible.
Mando also fought a slew of formidable foes, including Moff Gideon and whole stormtrooper squadrons. What distinguishes Mando from Boba Fett, though, is the milieu in which he works and manages to live.
In his mercenary days, Boba was normally the hunter, whereas Mando is the prey. Because he’s one of the Galaxy’s most sought, he’s got a hit on his head. So, whereas Boba Fett was free to pursue his prey, Mando had a continual target on his back.
Din Djarin, called Mando, is only slightly more strong than Boba Fett, hence he’s my selection to win the combat between the two characters, despite their similarities.
